Primary Public Viewing Areas

Watch the 2010 FIFA World Cup games in Sedibeng.

Two main or primary public viewing sites have been arranged for soccer fans to share in the excitement of the FIFA World Cup, from the first match through to the very last.

These two key public viewing sites are located at:

• Constitutional Square in the Vereeniging CBD and at the
• Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre in Zone 14, Sebokeng


These are both large venues which have the capacity to host bigger groups of people. The games will be shown on huge screens, and there will be food stalls, entertainment and fun activities for children.

Information on Primary Public Viewing Areas:

Constitutional Square in the Vereeniging CBD

  • Food and drink – A range of eats and drinks will be available to buy.
  • Entertainment – A daily entertainment programme has been lined up, including live music, dance performances and DJs.  There will be a playground with jumping castles and swings for the children.
  • Seating – Only 500 seats are available.
  • Entrances – The entrance to the Public Viewing Aras is in Joubert Street.
  • Security – There will be security and policing at the venue.
  • Availability of drinking water – Drinking water will be available.
  • Ablution facilities – There will be adequate ablution facilities.
  • Any other special offerings – There will be a braai area for those people that want to braai.
  • Games – All games will be broadcast.

Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre in Sebokeng

  • Food and drink – A range of eats and drinks will be available to buy, including traditional food, hotdogs, hamburgers, etc.
  • Entertainment – Shivava Cultural Festival, local artists and various DJs will perform on certain days.
  • Entrances –  There will be various public entrances.
  • Security – There will be 24 hour security at the venue.
  • Availability of drinking water –  There will be drinking water outlets at the venue. 
  • Ablution facilities –  Both venue toilets and portable toilets will be available.
  • Any other special offerings – There will be special product give-aways by Boxer Super Stores and Unilever
  • Games – All games will be broadcast.

Secondary Public Viewing Areas

16 smaller or secondary public viewing sites are located across the Emfuleni, Midvaal and Lesedi municipalities.

These secondary sites are located in close proximity to residential areas, so that getting to and from the viewing sites is as easy as possible.

The secondary sites have been equipped with video projectors and screens as well as public address systems for watching the football games. They may not offer other activities or catering, so be sure to bring some food and blankets along with you.
