| The Sedibeng District Municipality, in partnership with Gauteng Toursim Authority (GTA), is calling all tourism students and previously disadvantaged and unemployed citizens with a tourism background to register for the 2010 Tourism Volunteer Programme.
The Programme aims to train successful volunteers to proudly welcome international sporting fans to South Africa during the World Cup Soccer, and will also ensure that volunteers are equipped to partake in future world class sporting events hosted by South Africa.
The following selection criteria will be applied when considering participants:
• Be between the ages of 18 - 50 yrs
• Have basic understanding of the English language
• Be a permanent Gauteng resident
• Be prepared to undergo training in a prescribed area (region) of learning within the province of origin
• Applicants should be in possession of a Grade 12 certificate
All applicants will be listed on the Sedibeng Volunteer Programme Database and applicants who meet the criteria will be invited to be interviewed. The interview process will determine the selection of volunteers and thus our tourism ambassadors for 2010 and beyond!
Please ensure that proof of identification and qualifications are submitted to the Sedibeng tourism office when applying for the Programme.
