Delegation from Sedibeng including (l-r) ED Manele, MMC Simon Maphala, MM Yunus Chamda and Mayor Mofokeng with Mr Sybrandt Nel, the Chairperson of the Unitas Flying School at the Vereeniging Airport.		   The Executive Mayor of Sedibeng, Mayor Mofokeng and the MMC for Public Transport & Roads, Clr Simon Maphalla paid a visit to the Unitas Flying School on Saturday 20 February 2010. The political heads were accompanied by Municipal Manager, Yunus Chamda and Executive Director Sorrious Manelle.

The visit coincided with a day of aerobatics at the Vereeniging airport and afforded the delegation an opportunity to be flown around the Sedibeng District in light aircraft.

Besides the sheer exhilaration of flying, the flip was hugely beneficial for purposes of viewing developmental trends from the air.

The visit was also an opportunity for the Unitas School to present to the delegation some ideas on the ongoing maintenance, operations and development of the Vereeniging airfield. The Municipal Manager will lead a delegation of officials who will meet with the flying school and other parties within the next 2 weeks to discuss these matters in detail.
