The Sedibeng District Municipality is proud to announce the successful hosting of the 4th Annual Agri-Summit 2025 event held on Friday, 24th October 2025 at the Vereeniging Fresh Produce Market. This year’s event was hosted under the theme “Strengthening food security, promoting sustainable and resilient agricultural practices, improving market access and supporting rural livelihoods”
The event attracted more than 300 esteemed delegates and attracted Farmers, Market agents, Buyers, Agro-processors, SMME’s, Entrepreneurs, Agri-industries, Policy makers, Industry role players, Tertiary institutions, Motor industry, Finance institution, Agri-consultancies, Local Municipalities, Learners and students, National and Provincial departments, Media, Communities and Exhibitors.
Mr Jali Alluded that “The event aimed at celebrating and empowering all stakeholders who attended because they are the ones who are shaping the future of Agriculture in the region, province and beyond”.
Part 2 of the key focus of the day was continuation from the 3rd Market day event which involved group: 2 of the younger generation (35 learners) and enticing them to think of agriculture as a viable career through a FRESH PRODUCE MARKET TOUR. By showcasing the operations, systems, logistics, infrastructure and the many opportunities available in the agricultural value chain.
Part 3 of the key focus of the day was the launch of the SEDIBENG AGRI-STORE. The Sedibeng Agri-store was officially opened at the VEREENIGING FRESH PRODUCE MARKET and specializes on sale of Agricultural products such as equipment, seeds, protective clothing, feed, chemicals, farm inputs and many more. With growing demand and ongoing efforts to strengthen the local agricultural economy, the Fresh Produce Market is already expanding its focus to include more agro-processors, opening up even more opportunities for value addition along the agricultural value chain.
