06 April 2024, Thabo-Vuyo Resource Centre, Sebokeng

In a demonstration of community support, the Sedibeng District Municipality proudly contributed to the World Autism Awareness Month event held at the Thabo-Vuyo Resource Centre in Sebokeng. The event, organized by Gauteng Education and Youth Development and led by MEC Matome Chiloane, aimed to educate and raise awareness about autism, focusing on communication barriers faced by individuals living with autism.

The Sedibeng District Municipality was honoured to participate in this important initiative, which aligned with its commitment to "Making education a Societal Priority." The district's donation of fresh fruits, sourced from both the Sedibeng Fresh Produce Market and Subtropico Market agents, catered to the 700 learners attending the event.

"We believe that education should be a societal priority, and events like these provide an opportunity to create awareness on the importance of understanding and embracing diversity within our communities," remarked Someleze Jali, manager of the Sedibeng Fresh Produce Market.
