Executive Mayor attends launch of Thuto-Lore Engineering School of Specialisation.

The Executive Mayor of the Sedibeng District Municipality, Cllr Lerato Maloka, attended the launch of the Thuto-Lore Engineering School of Specialisation in Sharpeville on Friday, 13 March 2026.

The event was led by the Honourable Matome Chiloane, Gauteng MEC for Education, Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, who officially launched the school as part of the province’s programme to expand specialised learning institutions.

The Thuto-Lore Engineering School of Specialisation will focus on manufacturing, renewable energy and Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) skills, with the aim of preparing learners for careers in key technical and industrial sectors. The school becomes the 37th School of Specialisation to be launched in the province.

Cllr. Maloka attended the event alongside government officials, education stakeholders to support initiatives that strengthen technical education and skills development.
